Comtrol Names Rickenbach As Its New CEO

Comtrol Corporation (http://www.comtrol.com), a worldwide leader in device connectivity solutions, today announced that it has appointed industry veteran Rick Rickenbach to the position of chief executive officer. Rickenbach, a highly successful and well-regarded business executive, has served as chairman of the board at Comtrol for the past year and will retain that role. Comtrol also announced that President Ehssan Taghizadeh, a 17- year Comtrol veteran, will assume the additional role of chief operating officer, focusing on product innovation.
Together, Rickenbach and Taghizadeh will lead the company in its quest to achieve a new level of market and product leadership. “Rick is an accomplished leader with a long track record of creative and insightful management,” Taghizadeh said. “With my focus on building a vast product roadmap for the coming year and Rick’s strong sales and marketing background, Comtrol is poised to grow to an entirely new level of industry leadership.”
During his extensive career, Rickenbach has successfully led several technology and services businesses and has served on many boards. He has extensive expertise helping companies with startup operations, IPO processes, product innovation, sales and marketing leadership, international operations, strategic partnerships, and merger and acquisition activity. Previously, he was chairman and CEO of Applied Technology Consultants, where he built the executive team, developed a strong sales function and was instrumental in securing two rounds of venture capital financing. Prior to that, Rickenbach led the corporate business development for Fourth Shift Corporation; served as chairman and CEO of Government Technology Services; and held several executive and management positions with CDC. He currently serves on the board of directors for Cyber Security, which makes software that detects illegal use of desktop computer networks.
